| What's with the Adverts? |
ZeroGain is a non profit website which has previously relied on voluntary donations from it's members to pay for the site's running costs and to keep the site going. All moderators and staff run the site on a voluntary basis.
ZeroGain costs roughly £35 per month to be kept running, which is a combination of £33 per month for hosting costs, £10 per year for domain registration costs and a further £15 per year for software licensing fees.
The Donations page is still active for the time being, and donations are still welcome - if we can raise sufficient funding, the adverts obviously won't be necessary.
We really appreciate all the financial support our members have offered through donations, but the response hasn't been huge, and we simply can't go cap in hand to our members every time the server costs are due, relying on the same members' generosity each time.
As a result, the site currently features a Google AdSense text advert at the top and bottom of each page - these are as un-invasive as possible, but will hopefully raise enough revenue to fund the website. The adverts are simply served through Google, and we have no affiliation with any of the companies shown - they are shown when relevent to the content of the loaded pages.
