You can do better imho by upgrading the cdp (they do work btw)

not that special actually and it needs the external power supply to sing. I had the p1 and p3 and they were unquestionable beaten by my current Wadia.

I have both here, and use the upsampler to run the CD input of my TAG AV32R.

Given a good source and as mentioned above, the power supply upgrade, the quality can be very good, but the upsampler is undoubtedly the best of the two items, and something the DAC needs to be at it's best.

It definatley needs an uprated psu's without question (The P-1) also a few tinkerings inside help.
If you were thinking of a reclocker then an Apogee Big Ben is the answer (and you can mod that too!!!)
though personally I would look at the root cause rather than trying to whack a band aid on (imho) Wm

The age old question mod or change I just dont know which route to go :(
I suppose op amps and a few choice caps wont break the bank but will give me an idea to continue or not? Does an air platform have much effect on a vdrs player or will a clock at the same ££'s be a bigger upgrade?
And tempted with gambling on something like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=3272&item=7522246900&rd=1
