Infected Mushroom - Converting Vegetarians

Just listened to the first CD of this tonight. Not too sure what to make of it, not a bad album, but completely, and utterly different to the normal Infected Mushroom. Like its got some shpongle, hallucinogen and massive attack in it, all the while hinting at the infected mushroom sound. Its certainly a much mellower affair than something like BP Empire, which is banging in the most dramatic sense of the word, this is much more downtempo.

Will listen to the second CD tomorrow...

I downloaded some Infected Mushroom the other week (along with some of your top 5 trance tunes). I M sounded pretty much like old Eat Static stuff, not that that is necessarily bad or anything, but hardly innovative is it?
As a vegetarian, I'm not converted...

paul,
did you listen to the vocal cd first perchance? i'd agree it is different and i think quite good from a predominantly psy trance act. they are trying out new things which isn;t a bad thing.
the other cd is the usual full on banging psy trance imho.
cheers

That sounds like the one there was quite a bit of vocals in it, and it was surprisingly "normal" considering who it was, I'm going to listen to the other CD tonight.... still, not a bad effort, it was quite listenable IMO.

I have BP empire and I find the best track is the last one. Is this vegetables thing more like that if so I might have to get it...?

When I get the chance to listen to the last track, I'll let you know, isnt that one a bit slower?

Anyway, I have lots to do tonight, so I wont get the chance to listen tonight, and I'm out tomorrow. Maybe I can play it when I'm getting ready. I'll let ya know.

I really like this track too, if they made more tracks like this I could really get into them.

Yeah but the last track is so non-psy-trance as to be a different act altogether... However - I too love it - the way the bass line comes in right near the end with that lush guitar/synth over the top, the trad instrumentation bit in the middle - woah - just rude...

I find Converting Veggies to be a little bit odd - not sure what to make of either disc to be honest. However - the single off of it (the one with crunchin' guitar - track 7 disc 1 I think) is fantastic - really really up.

Eat Static and System 7 rock - I kind of regret missing System 7 at Glasters, though I've seen them at the Rex - very cool. Prometheus is even better though...
